Unofficial Dutch Translation pack for Citrix Webinterface 4.6

Aleks Nikolic van www.virtualistic.nl heeft zijn tijd nuttig besteed aan het bouwen van een languagepack voor Citrix Webinterface 4.6. Het gaat om een Nederlandstalige vertaling.

Let op: dit is geen officiële languagepack van Citrix dus test dit eerst goed in een test omgeving en het gebruik is op eigenrisico.

Alex schrijft het volgende op zijn website:

Ik heb de inhoud van de bestanden vergeleken en de vertaling die op bijv. Brianmadden.com of elders beschikbaar is, is:
A) Gedateerd in die zin dat Citrix veel regels heeft laten vervallen en nieuwe regels/captions heeft toegevoegd
B) Client detectie vertaling is afwezig (hebben gebruikers vaak veel vragen over)
C) De huidige vertalingen hebben geen ondersteuning voor AAC, Password Manager Self Service etc..

Installing the Novell Client for OpenSUSE 10.2 onto OpenSUSE 10.3

The Novell Client for OpenSUSE 10.2 will install on OpenSUSE 10.3 with a few hacks.

  1. Download the client and run the install. You will get a number of failures starting with the novell-xtier-base installation. This fails because the install was expecting a certain version of binutils and OpenSUSE 10.3 has a newer version.
  2. From a root console, type the following: 
    cd /usr/lib
ln -s libbfd-2.17.50.20070726-14.so libbfd-2.17.50.0.5.so
  3. Force installation of the novell-xtier-base RPM to ignore the dependency failure: 
    cd /media/cdrom (or wherever you have the installation image mounted)
cd suse/i586
rpm -U --nodeps novell-xtier-base-3.1.5-6.23.i586.rpm
  4. Run the install again using the ncl_install script from the installation media. The install should complete without further error.
  5. You will need to add the /opt/novell/ncl/bin directory to your path in order for the login utility to find all of the programs needed to process login scripts. Edit the /etc/bash.bashrc file and add the following line to the end:
    6. PATH=$PATH:/opt/novell/ncl/bin
  6. Log out and back in for the changes to the bash.bashrc to take effect.

The client should now be working correctly and your login script should process as normal.

VMware ESX Server 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5 released

VMware had to fix some minor bugs in ESX build 64557, that’s why last Friday the launch was stopped at the last moment but today it’s here. The new build (64607) is online and ready for download.

Overview:
Update to Open Office 2.3 to address a security vulnerability along with a few bug fixes.

System Requirements:
Open Office 2.3

Installation:
1) Download the msp file on a Windows machine with the Novell OOo 2.3 installed.
2) Double click the msp file and proceed through the install.
3) Restart the system.

Uninstalling:
1) Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs
2) Select the Show Updates option
3) Select OOo-2.3.0-7-3.msp
4) Remove the patch

OpenOffice.org 2.3.1

OpenOffice.org klein logoDe ontwikkelaars achter OpenOffice.org hebben onlangs versie 2.3.1 van hun opensource officepakket uitgebracht. OpenOffice.org wordt geleverd met een tekstverwerker (Writer), een spreadsheetprogramma (Calc), een presentatieprogramma (Impress), een tekenprogramma (Draw) en het databaseprogramma Base. Downloads zijn beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux en Solaris en variëren in grootte tussen de 107 en 174MB. Met hulp van vele vrijwilligers is OpenOffice.org inmiddels al in meer dan 80 talen vertaald, maar op dit moment zijn alleen de Engelse, Duitse en Italiaanse uitvoering beschikbaar. De Nederlandse uitvoering zal binnenkort hier te vinden zijn. In versie 2.3.1 zijn alleen enkele bugs verholpen en worden geen nieuwe features toegevoegd. Dat zal pas in versie 2.4 gebeuren, welke zijn opwachting zal maken in maart 2008.

OpenOffice.org 2.3.1

The OpenOffice.org Community announces the immediate availability of OpenOffice.org 2.3.1. This is a minor bug fix release with no new features for users. However, as this release also fixes a security vulnerability, we recommend all users should upgrade to this release. The next release to contain significant new features, release 2.4, is currently planned to be available in March 2008.
