Public Beta – Novell GroupWise 8

There’s more to GroupWise today than there has ever been.

Novell has raised the bar on user productivity. With GroupWise 8, you get a highly connected collaborative workspace that leverages Web resources to enhance your interactions.

Add wikis and blogs to e-mail. Add Web pages to Home View panels. Publish your calendar so that everyone you work with outside your organization can do a busy search on your time.

With GroupWise 8, you don’t have to be a power user to make the most of your tools or your time. Nothing else plugs you into the Web 2.0 world as thoroughly as GroupWise or makes it look so good—and so easy—once you’re there.

Participate in the open beta by downloading the GroupWise 8 beta code below. If you have feedback, we’d love to hear it. Submit your comment, question or suggested improvement in the “feedback” box. Your comments will be sent to the engineering and product management teams.

GroupWise @ Home Survey

For many years many people have been saying – “so if GroupWise is such a great solution, why can’t I use it at home?”. And with the new version GroupWise Bonsai coming up, this gets even more interesting, as many of the new features would be an excellent fit at home as well.

Having GroupWise @ Home will make many people very happy, as this new version will beat the competition at almost all aspects.

The GroupWise community connected by GroupWiseR has had discussions with Novell about this for quite some time and now needs your feedback to really build the case for GroupWise @ Home.

You might say: using GroupWise @ Home, can’t I already do that? Well, yes, GroupWise supports POP3 and IMAP4 and you can indeed install it at home. And yes, if your organization is using GroupWise and you or your users want to use the same great solution at home, you are entitled to simply take the client and install that at home, free of charge.

However, there are still a few things missing to make this a perfect solution at home, like a wizard to make the first installation including the creation of a POP3 or IMAP4 account easier. And perhaps some menu items that are not necessary in this GroupWise @ Home mode need to be removed.

Anyway, we need your feedback on this. We’re already a bit late in the creation process of Bonsai, but it looks like the time is right to give this project a serious shot.

Join us in this initiative and let’s see if we can build a strong case to get GroupWise @ Home.

We appreciate your feedback by completing the survey, thanks very much.
