XBMC Media Center 9.11 final

XBMC logo (27 pix)Team XBMC heeft donderdag de finalrelease uitgebracht van versie 9.11 van XBMC Media Center, codenaam ‘Camelot’. Deze crossplatform mediacentersoftware wordt ontwikkeld voor Windows, Mac OS X, Linux en de AppleTV. De port voor de originele Xbox wordt niet meer onderhouden. Het eerste wat opvalt in versie 9.11 is de nieuwe skin waarvan gebruik gemaakt wordt, namelijk Confluence. In de Windowsversie wordt nu van DirectX gebruik gemaakt voor het renderen van in plaats van OpenGL. Verder is het configuratiemenu onder handen genomen, speelt video vloeiender af, zijn de codecs bijgewerkt en is de ondersteuning voor universele afstandsbedieningen verder uitgebreid.

STEP 1: Prepare openSUSE 11.2 for the Novell GroupWise 8 client
(as root)
zypper in openmotif openmotif22-libs libstdc++33

STEP 2: Download latest Novell GroupWise client
Latest GroupWise client available here

STEP 3: Install the Novell GroupWise 8 client
(as root)
unzip *.zip
rpm -uhv *.rpm
(alternative, you can click your way around and install using the GUI)

Novell BrainShare in Amsterdam

novellHet was eerder al duidelijk dat Novell opnieuw een BrainShare congres in Europa zou organiseren, maar nu communiceert Novell in een nieuwsbrief zelfs datum en plaats; van 18 tot 21 mei, in Amsterdam! Natuurlijk zou het spannend wezen om te weten waar precies in Amsterdam, maar dat was bij het persbureau nog niet bekend. We houden je op de hoogte.
(Volgens mij komt er maar één locatie in aanmerking en dat is de RAI. Voordat BrainShare enkele jaren geleden werd afgeblazen liepen de bezoekersaantallen terug, maar zelfs op het dieptepunt -2005?- waren er nog 1200 bezoekers. Ik zou geen andere locatie weten dan de RAI
